The modified hyaluronic acid in SkinVive is similar to that found in dermal fillers, but in a lower volume so it adds hydration to the skin but not volume. When injected via tiny micro droplets throughout the skin, small deposits of  hyaluronic acid attract your skins’ own moisture to the surface, and provide a “glow” effect that can last up to 6 months. 

SkinVive is an appropriate treatment for anyone wanting to increase hydration in the skin without the effect of adding volume.

The most common treatment area are the cheeks. However, SkinVive can be injected around the mouth and hands for additional hydration.

It can also be used as a “pseudo” lip filler to provide hydration in the lips with very little volume augmentation. This makes it a perfect solution for patients who just want to “fluff” and hydrate their lips without adding volume.

Topical anesthetic and ice are applied prior to treatment to minimize discomfort. Then, a series of injections spaced closely together are placed throughout the treated area.

There is a possibility of bruising, and you will see small areas of swelling that last for about 30 minutes. Most patients can cover any bruising with makeup. The final outcome of treatment is apparent in about two weeks. 

Patients often combine this treatment with IPL Photofacial, ResurFX and Microneedling to target a variety of skin concerns. The number of treatments needed depends on the individual’s skin quality and several syringes may be needed to achieve the final result. Your provider will assess your skin and provide a treatment plan best for you.

Your initial treatment may require more than one session for optimal rejuvenation.
