Kybella reduces the appearance of a “double chin”

Kybella is a synthetic version of a naturally occurring molecule in the body called deoxycholic acid – a molecule that aids in the breakdown of fat. Specifically targeted to submental fullness — the fat beneath the chin — Kybella is injected under the skin where it destroys fat cells and essentially “melts” away excess fat.

  • Deoxycholic acid in our bodies breaks down fat during the digestive process. By injecting it into the submental fat (below chin) area, it dissolves the fat cells, causing the fat cell by products to be metabolized and excreted by the body.

  • Kybella is ideal for those seeking a relatively painless, non-surgical, injectable treatment for submental fullness AKA a “double chin”. Ideal candidates are people in their 20’s, 30’s, and possibly early 40’s.

    It is especially helpful for patients whose “double chin” has persisted despite weight loss. 

     Kybella works best for patients that have good skin tone and no skin laxity. 

  • At each session you will receive a series of multiple small injections under your chin that are relatively painless. The actual treatment takes just a few minutes.  Ice will be applied before and after treatment for comfort.

    Immediately after your Kybella injections you may experience a mild stinging or burning sensation. Plan to be in the office for about 30-45 minutes. 

  • Depending on your goals, we recommend several treatments. Most patients require 3 treatment sessions spaced about a month apart, however you will notice significant results within 2 treatments.

    Because Kybella permanently removes the fat cells under the chin, and the results of treatment can last for years.
